Take Our Kids to Work Day
Take Our Kids to Work Day is an annual event held across Canada where Grade 9 students have the opportunity to go to work with their parent/guardian or a volunteer host to learn about their workplace and occupation.
Originally conceived by Toronto's Learning Partnership, the event is coordinated locally by both local school boards and many local employers. If you wish further information, please visit either the Learning Partnership
There will be an assembly for all Grade 9 students in October to introduce and outline this program. Students will be provided with an information brochure and a permission form. Please take a few moments and review these materials with them.
Students may go to work with a parent/guardian or any other adult who is acceptable to the parent/guardian and who is willing to act as a volunteer host. However, if your child is going with a volunteer host, please ensure that the appropriate extra section of the permission form is also completed. It should be noted that we are unable to arrange for volunteer hosts for your child.
Fully completed and signed permission forms are due at least two days prior to the event. Please note that students who choose not to participate in this program are expected to be in school and will complete some career activities with their teachers.
