Planned learning activities that take place outside the traditional classroom setting. Providing students with the opportunity to explore, observe, participate in, and reflect on a variety of Arts and Culture specific experiences and careers. "Reach Ahead" experiences, which are learning activities connected with the student's postsecondary goals in the Arts and Culture sector. Development of Essential Skills and Work Habits that make it possible to learn technical and other Arts and Culture sector specific skills.

Who they're for
Students who are heading for university, college, apprenticeship or the workplace.

How they help
Making courses more relevant to students gives them a better understanding of a subject because they learn it in real working environments. Students learn on the job with employers as well as in school. The sector-specific certifications and training they receive are valued by the Arts and Culture sector and help ensure students are better prepared for their postsecondary goals. At graduation, students receive a specially designated diploma and an SHSM record outlining their achievements within the SHSM-Arts and Culture.
