Transportation Cancellations:
On
occasion, it may be necessary to
cancel student transportation
services. Every attempt is made to
provide information about
transportation cancellations by the
7:00 a.m. news. Some cancellations
will only be for specific bus
routes, and therefore, you are
encouraged to know your child’s bus
route. Unless otherwise advised,
schools will remain open when buses
are cancelled in order to
accommodate students who get to
school via other means.
Transportation Problems During the
School Day:
If snow or other weather conditions prevent buses from leaving school, students will be kept at the school until they can be released to a parent or designate. Adequate staff will be retained at the school to provide supervision.
Early Dismissal During the School Day:
Unsafe weather or road conditions, mechanical or electrical breakdown of essential school facilities or equipment, power failure, and more may require early dismissal. Prior to dismissal, the principals of elementary schools shall ensure that there is a responsible person at home who can care for your child or have been advised of alternate arrangements for your child.
