SECORD ATHLETICS

FUEL – Ladies, a reminder to all FUEL girls to bring a dollar this week for our smoothies!!!

Girls Soccer - Last night the Lady Patriots soccer team played a tie breaker game against Beamsville, with the winner advancing to the Zone semi final. The girls played a never give up game, winning by a score of 4 - 2. Goal scorers were Lexi Gilby netting 2, Britt Vandriel and Mackenzie Cielen-Gough each with 1. Up next for the girls is St. Francis at 3:30 today. There will be a brief meeting today at the START of lunch in room 119 for all members.

Indoor soccer report. Teams 1 and 4 won their games yesterday. Today teams 7 and 3 play first and then 8 and 2 play. Spectators pick up your garbage, please!!!!

Reminder that we have track practice after school for everyone, this is to prepare for Sossa. Good luck to all 28 athletes who have qualified for Sossa, Go Patriots!!!!

Rankin Run participants, you know who you are. Please bring in your money to Cros today or Mrs. Biega on Thursday. We will have a team picture taken on Friday during Period 5 in the gym. You will receive your T-shirt in a brown paper bag. This is to be brought to the Rankin Run with non-perishable food items for Community Care. Listen for an announcement when and where to meet. We have raised about $5000.00 so far, let’s try for 10,000. Ms. Biro is getting better and her family will be walking with us, Go Patriots!!!! I will also take money on Friday but it would help tremendously if I had it all in by Thursday.

GUIDANCE

Applications for the DSBN Summer School Program are now available in the Guidance Office after school or by appointment. A list of the remedial, new credit and online courses being offered is posted on the Guidance bulletin board. Applications must be submitted through our Guidance Office by June 21.

Global Journeys offers you the opportunity to earn high school credits while at the same time experiencing firsthand the many different cultures, traditions, and ways of life in a foreign land. PEER TUTORS - A reminder that you have your weekly class today at 11:30 am in Room 207. Please be on time.

Will you be in Grade 12 next year? Are you thinking about College? Do you think you are ready to try College out while you are in Grade 12? Then you should find out about the Connecting to College program, aka C2. There will be a representative here on Friday to talk about C2 for the General, Arts, Hospitality, Business, and Tech programs. Sign up in Guidance if you would like to attend the info session on Friday during Period 3.

PREFECTS - The Prefects have held their election for the position of Assistant Head Prefect. This year we have two Prefects who are going to share the role. Please join the Prefects in congratulating Gab Glatt and Michael Song as our Assistant Head Prefects for next year!

Calling all graduating portrait artists! Now that we have our valedictorian, we need someone to create the drawing. If you are a graduating student and wish to apply for the commission, please see Mr. Simpson or Mr. Azzopardi. The selection will be based on a pencil self-portrait you will submit. The successful artist will have their drawing framed and will hang in the hall outside the Main Office.
